Researcher Positions:
- 1 year Post-doc Research Grant at the Astronomical Observatory of Palermo. The project focuses on the development of models of exoplanetary atmospheres and the role that radiation from the star plays in defining their dynamics and chemistry. The call is available at the following link: http://www.inaf.it/it/lavora-con-noi/assegni-di-ricerca/assegno-di-ricerca-post-doc201d-della-durata-di-un-anno-dal-titolo-201cstudio-degli-effetti-della-radiazione-sulle-atmosfere-esoplanetarie. The deadline for applications is 28/10/2024.
- (DEADLINE PASSED) 1 year fellowship at the Dept. of Physics and Chemistry of the University of Palermo, focused on the study of the magnetic activity in M-type stars to constrain its effects on exoplanets.
This research grant has been funded in the framework of the PRIN2022 project “Know your little neighbours: characterizing low-mass stars and planets in the Solar neighbourhood” proposed by INAF – Palermo Astronomical Observatory and University of Palermo. The research activities will be carried out in close collaboration with researchers from both the institutes. The application deadline is December 28th 2023. The salary is around 30 k€/yr. Applications from any candidate having at least a master degree are welcome. The selection is based on CV and interview. The call for applications is available at:
- (DEADLINE PASSED) Public competition based on qualifications and examination, for the recruitment of a “Researcher”, Third Professional Level, with a fixed-term full-time contract for a duration of two years (DD. 22/2023 of 06/02/2023). [Link]
PhD Grants:
- PhD at Università degli Studi di Palermo project “STILES: Strengthening the Italian leadership in ELT and SKA” [Link]:
- Quantum simulation of astrochemical elements and of exoplanetary atmospheres via quantum algorithms or quantum-inspired algorithms.
- Development of softwares on hybrid architectures for the study of the chemical evolution of exo-planetary atmospheres in the radiation environment of parent stars, and the impact on planetary dynamics and climatology.
