Time series analysis of hot Jupiters host stars
We propose the radial velocity analysis of stars hosting hot Jupiters. The data are obtained with the high precision spectrograph HARPS-N installed at the Telescopio Nazionale Galileo in the framework of the INAF-GAPS observing program.
The proposed analysis may include:
- the evaluation of the more suitable data reduction mode
- the study of the correlations between radial velocities and activity indices
- the frequency analysis of the time series including the evolution of the largest periodogram periodicity with the increasing number of data
- the keplerian fit of the data to obtain the orbital and physical parameters of the planets
- the archival search for additional radial velocity data in order to extend the observation timespan (e.g. stellar activity cycle)
- the comparison of the obtained parameters in the context of similar targets or with respect to the larger exoplanets population
