Work takes place in two buildings: the historical venue at the top of Palazzo dei Normanni (Piazza del Parlamento 1), and the Laboratory, sited in via G.F. Ingrassia 31, which hosts labs, workshops and equipment for high-performance calculation.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Visitors entrance is in Piazza del Parlamento 1, where they will find security controls with metal detector and they will be requested to hand in an identity document at the ARS reception desk. The controls could take up to 20-30 minutes: visitors are kindly requested to take this into account when planning to arrive at the Observatory, situated at the top of the building.

Access to the Palace is allowed from 8,00 to 19,00.

HOW TO REACH THE ROYAL PALACE IN PALERMO

From Catania: A19 – exit Palermo – Viale della Regione siciliana – Corso Calatafimi – Piazza Indipendenza

From Trapani: A29dir / E933 – Viale della Regione siciliana – Corso Calatafimi – Piazza Indipendenza

From Stazione Centrale: Bus 109, 234, Subway to Orleans station.

From the airport: due to work in progress, the airport train is not currently active. Coaches of the Prestia and Comandè company (http://www.prestiaecomande.it/) leave every 30 minutes for Stazione Centrale; from there take the subway to Orleans station.

From the port: Via Turati, next to Teatro Politeama, is within walking distance (700 m) and from there take bus no. 108 up Piazza Indipendenza.

In the city: Metro Orleans Station

HOW TO REACH THE LABORATORY

Via G.F. Ingrassia (see map) is very close to Palermo Railway Central Station, between Corso dei Mille and Via Archirafi. It is therefore suggested to follow the signs – or to ask – for the Central Station (in Italian “Stazione Centrale”).
