Exo School
The ExoPa group at INAF – Astronomical Observatory of Palermo is organizing the second edition of the ExoSchool: a school on exoplanets aimed at university students, designed to provide a comprehensive experience of the work of an astrophysicist, covering the entire journey from theory to practice, starting with theoretical lectures and culminating in the presentation of results.
The school, organized by the ExoPa group and funded by the INAF Scientific Directorate, is
focused on the study and in-depth exploration of exoplanetary and stellar physics and includes:
- Introductory lectures on exoplanets and astronomical observations held by researchers from the Palermo Astronomical Observatory on September 11–12;
- Two nights of observations at the Gal Hassin International Center for Astronomical Sciences in Isnello (PA) on the nights of September 13 and 14;
- Return to Palermo on September 16;
- Follow-up meetings for data analysis and presentation of results.
Participation in the school is limited to 20 students. The school has no registration fee and covers accommodation, meals, and transportation (to/from Palermo) for the period spent in Isnello (September 13–16). Meals and accommodation in Palermo on September 11 and 12, as well as travel expenses to and from Palermo at the start and/or end of the school, are not included.
