My main research topic is the study of star forming regions and young stellar objects (YSOs) and their variability, due to e.g. accretion/ejection processes.

I apply an interdisciplinary approach to the invastigation of YSOs, which combines:

data analysis of multi-band observations (mainly optical and X-ray data)

– numerical simulations describing the physical processes

– interpretation of laboratory experiments of astrophysical objects

I am the co-chair of the Transients and Variable Stars Science Collaboration (TVS SC) of Vera C. Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST)

I am the Primary Contact of the group Non-degenerate Eruptive Variables of the Transients and Variable Stars Science Collaboration (TVS SC) of Vera C. Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST)

I am the Chair of the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion group of TVS in Rubin LSST

I am the co-Chair of the Data Preview 0 (DP0) Task Force of TVS in Rubin LSST

I am a member of the Rubin SC’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council

I represent INAF in the Board of Directors of LSST Discovery Alliance

I am also:

co-I of 2 accepted 4MOST proposals

co-I of 2 accepted JWST proposals

co-I of the Gaia ESO Survey (GES)

Member of the WEAVE Stellar, Circumstellar, and INterstellar Physics (SCIP) team

Member of the Athena X-ray Observatory Star formation and evolution working group

Member of the science team SHARP

Member of the science team WST
